We can't have the TV show (at least not for now.... it might not be a forever thing.... I don't know, it's all very confusing and I hear it involves shrimp and cheese) but we can have the Movie... I know, but it will be fun I promise.

We will add extra fun stuff that I'm working on finding out if we can do some of it legally ( no, not *that* get you minds out of the gutter) and there will be costumes involved.

Again I will post more as I know more but for now, save the date and I'll make it worth your while. And I even promise to sing during the movie at some point.

All Buffy and Firefly theater shows canceled by Fox

I'm still trying to find out why but Fox is cancelling all theatrical showings of all their TV shows. This includes Buffy and Firefly. We are trying to figure out what's going on and why. We are also trying to figure out if we can do something Buffy related on the 25th without breaking any laws.

I'll post when I know anything.

Instead of the TV Show we are showing the movie and adding lots of fun extras - yes there will be dancing and singing... just not by Sarah Michelle Gellar.

It's actually going to be awesome so get there early and come in costume!

Answers to Back to School Trivia and a Request for Feedback

Oops! Sorry this is so late! I wrote it right after getting home from the show and must have hit save instead of post. I should not be allowed online after midnight on school nights.

Once again I made the Buffy Trivia too hard. I have a volunteer who will let me e-mail her the questions from now on and find out if people less obsessive with the Buffy facts then me have a chance of knowing the answers. So hopefully next month's questions will be less of the huh? I'll also go back to more multiple choice questions since people seemed to like those better.

The answers are below but first I have a request. Please use this post (or any other post on this blog for that matter) to let me know what you would like to see at future Whedon Nights. What episodes are you hoping we show? Are you enjoying the trivia despite my choosing of the questions of much obscureness? What has been fun/ not so much fun about past Whedon nights? Do you have any ideas for the sing-along you'd like to see us try? Would you like a printed list of ideas of things to say and do during the movie, or are you enjoying the way things are organically being added by the audience? Please feel free to be honest. If there is something you are not enjoying, let me know.

Bring your number 2 pencils and be ready for a pop quiz because we're all going back to school with Buffy. As usual we will start off with a sing- along "Once More With Feeling." After a short break it's Parent's Night at Sunnydale high in "School Hard" and then off to UC Sunnydale in "The Freshman"

Please come early so you have time to order some of the yummy food the Cerrito offers and a pint or two of beer (Foamy!) Then mingle with the other Buffy fans or test your knowledge with our infamous trivia quiz. This month we will be focusing on all things scholastic in the Buffyverse so study hard and see if you pass or fail. Stand Up Comics will provide a gift certificate for our top scoring student and members of the honor roll will receive free admission to a future show at the Cerrito Theater or other nifty toy surprises.

Put on your boots and hat and mosey on over to the Cerrito Theater for Space Cowboy night.

Starting this Friday, 6/22, The Cerrito Theatre welcomes customers 18 and over on weeknights. So tell your young friends who have been wanting to join you at Buffy and Firefly nights to come on down to El Cerrito for some Whedonistic fun!

The Parkway will remain a 21 and over venue.

Buffy Night: Is She Really Going Out with Him? July 12, 9:15

We will start the evening off with the sing-a-long "Once More with Feeling" and then enjoy a double feature of "Something Blue" and "Intervention." Both episodes have the Scoobies confused (and revolted) when they think Buffy is going out with Spike... but is she?

And don't forget to study up on Spike and Buffy and show up early for the very Spuffy trivia test and BUFFY BINGO!!!. There will be free admission tickets from the theater and comicky goodness from Stand Up Comics for the winners.

Firefly: Take Me To the Pilot - June 14th, 9:15

We will be showing the real 2 hour pilot, "Serenity", parts 1 &2, and then the faux/Fox pilot, "The Train Job"

In fitting with the "pilot" theme, come dressed as Serenity's lovable pilot, Wash (Hawaiian shirt or a jumpsuit if you have one), and be ready for Wash trivia. (For those of you still reeling from the pop quiz at the Buffy prom last month: don't worry this should be much easier.)
